Hoosier Energy and its 18 Member Distribution Cooperatives’ commitment to environmental stewardship helps improve quality of life in the areas we serve. Hoosier Energy offers environmental educational and outdoor recreation opportunities at its Turtle Creek Reservoir and Environmental Education Center.
Turtle Creek Reservoir
Turtle Creek Reservoir is owned by Hoosier Energy and is located in Sullivan County, Indiana. The reservoir is a cooling lake for Hoosier Energy’s Merom Generating Station and is utilized as a recreation and environmental education site as well. The 1,550-acre reservoir is stocked with bluegill, redear sunfish, black crappie, largemouth bass, and channel catfish.

Environmental Education
Hoosier Energy’s Environmental Education Center is located on the property of Turtle Creek Reservoir. The center has a large classroom available to educators, scouting groups, and other Member organizations. Hoosier Energy’s Environmental Coordinator is available to lead hands-on group activities related to recycling, solar and wind energy at the Education Center or Member System preferred location.
